IRIS Navarra and CEN join forces to collaborate and drive digital transformation in navarra’s business fabric through business associations

The IRIS Navarra Digital Innovation Hub and the Navarra Business Confederation (CEN) held a meeting this morning with business associations from Navarra to review the collaboration between the two organisations, which began last year with the aim of driving digital transformation in the region’s business ecosystem.

The event, held at the IRIS Navarra headquarters, was opened by the President of the Hub and Minister of University, Innovation and Digital Transformation, Juan Luis García, who highlighted that “the industrial sector has in IRIS Navarra a key pillar to continue growing.” In this regard, García stressed that “this Hub brings together the knowledge and talent of Navarra’s entire Navarra R&D&I System, a system fully committed to the business sector and one that will undoubtedly be an engine of transformation for our productive model.”

Likewise, García pointed out that “IRIS Navarra concentrates the activity needed to ensure that no one is left behind—neither companies with fewer resources nor people who require additional support.” For this reason, he emphasised that collaboration between CEN and the Hub is key to advancing towards a more innovative and inclusive system that offers benefits to society as a whole.

Afterwards, Izaskun Gutiérrez, Head of IT at CEN, and Ion Arrizabalaga, Coordinator of IRIS Navarra, presented the actions and collaborations undertaken since both entities signed an agreement in March 2024 to join forces and drive digital transformation among businesses in Navarra. As part of this collaboration, CEN conducted an analysis to identify the digitalisation needs of its member companies and work alongside IRIS Navarra to adapt the Hub’s services to those needs and offer specific solutions.

During the event, IRIS Navarra, CEN and ATANA (Navarra’s Technology and Consultancy Cluster) also presented joint actions to continue supporting the digitalisation of the region’s business fabric. Thanks to this collaboration, free advice will be offered to CEN member companies to identify their main needs and propose implementation solutions with accredited Navarrese technology providers, all with the backing of the coordinating entities, which will accompany them throughout the process.

To make this collaboration even more effective, the event concluded with a participatory activity involving CEN business associations—key players in the process of identifying sector-specific needs and effectively communicating Navarra’s technological offering.

The closing remarks were delivered by Mikel Irujo Amezaga, Vice President of IRIS Navarra and Minister of Industry and Ecological and Business Digital Transition, and Vice President of the Hub, who emphasised that “bringing the Digital Innovation Hub closer to the business fabric of Navarra is essential. We all need to pull in the same direction for this transformation. It is time to strengthen the capabilities of our industrial ecosystem and develop emerging sectors. The Hub, as a digital one-stop shop, is the meeting point to make this possible and continue growing as we have so far.”

In this regard, the Minister of Industry stressed that not only industry is benefitting from the services offered—society as a whole is too: “This shows that this transformation is for everyone. This is a key moment to build a more connected, innovative and sustainable Navarra.”
