Navarra hosts the first cybersecurity week, with more than 20 free activities for all citizens across across the region
More than 20 free activities scheduled in different localities across the region will take place between 20 and 24 October as part of the First Cybersecurity Week. Coinciding with the celebration of European Cybersecurity Month, this initiative—created with the aim of becoming a landmark event in Navarra for the promotion of cybersecurity culture among society—is organised by the Navarra Cybersecurity Center (NavCC), an initiative led by the Department of University, Innovation and Digital Transformation of the Government of Navarra and funded by Next Generation EU funds.
The week will begin with the Cybersecurity Forum, where representatives from the public administration, business sector, educational centres and the general public will analyse cybersecurity from different perspectives. The Minister of University, Innovation and Digital Transformation, Juan Luis García, will open the event, highlighting the importance of fostering a public‑private collaboration space in this field.
Among the many activities scheduled for the week is the magic show by Jorge Luengo, “Cybersecurity Is Not Magic… Or Is It?”, which will tour in Pamplona / Iruña, Tudela, Tafalla and Estella‑Lizarra. The show transforms the complex topic of digital security into a surprising and inspiring experience through interactive games, magic illusions and practical examples.
Also noteworthy is the collaboration of the National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE), which will bring the #ExperienciaINCIBE stand to the Valle de Egüés / Eguesibar and Tafalla. This travelling installation includes information, demonstration, training and gamification areas, with the goal of raising awareness about cybersecurity among all citizens in an enjoyable and engaging way.
Activities targeting university and vocational training students are also scheduled, including technical talks, specialised workshops and competitions organised by the UPNA Cybersecurity Chair and the NavCC, featuring significant prizes.
Among the activities aimed at the business sector is the 5th Navarra Digital Security Forum NASEC 2025, an event organised by ATANA, Navarra’s technology and consultancy cluster. Key companies and organisations from the technology and cybersecurity sector will share experiences and use cases on how different industries are tackling cybersecurity challenges.
In the programme of the Navarra Cybersecurity Week, two escape rooms will also be held, in Noáin / Noain and Tudela, aimed at entrepreneurs and students, jointly organised by the public company CEIN, the UPNA Cybersecurity Chair and the NavCC. These are highly practical and immersive activities that test participants’ skills through digital and analogue challenges.
Finally, the NavCC will offer a talk at the Parliament of Navarra as part of the Parlatic conference series, an association of ICT professionals from parliaments, at the request of the regional chamber, which is hosting this year’s national meeting. The session will present an overview of the cybersecurity situation within public administrations, reviewing the current context, main threats and risks, and the regulatory framework of the National Security Scheme (ENS). It will also present cybersecurity management use cases, such as those of the Government of Navarra and the “COCS EELL” project, managed by the Spanish Digital Transformation Agency and aimed at local entities with fewer than 50,000 inhabitants across Spain.
The full programme of the Navarra Cybersecurity Week is available on the NavCC website, along with links to book tickets for the free performances of magician Jorge Luengo.
About the Navarra Cybersecurity Center
The Navarra Cybersecurity Center (NavCC) is an initiative framed within the collaborative CIBERREG project (RETECH programme), led by the Department of University, Innovation and Digital Transformation of the Government of Navarra and managed by the public company NASERTIC.
The RETECH programme (Territorial Networks for Technological Specialisation) is coordinated by the National Cybersecurity Institute of Spain (INCIBE), through the Secretariat of State for Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence, and funded by European funds from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (Next Generation EU).
The NavCC was established as Navarra’s reference centre for cybersecurity, and its services are integrated into the IRIS Navarra Digital Innovation Hub. Its main objective is to promote initiatives that increase cyber‑resilience across all sectors in the Comunidad Foral: citizens, the business fabric—particularly SMEs and self‑employed workers—and public administrations.
