The 19th Spanish Supercomputing Network User Conference Grants an Award to UPNA Professor Humberto Bustince

The 19th Spanish Supercomputing Network (RES) User Conference, currently taking place in Pamplona / Iruña with the participation of the public company NASERTIC, presented the highest supercomputing award granted in Spain to UPNA Professor Humberto Bustince yesterday afternoon.

Garbiñe Basterra, Director General for Energy and Digital Transition, Business R&D&I and Entrepreneurship, presented Bustince with the RES-HPC Award, which recognises outstanding contributions to research, development and/or dissemination in the field of supercomputing in Spain. The award ceremony, held at the Refectory of Pamplona Cathedral, was also attended by Sergi Girona, Director of Operations at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center – National Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS).

The award was presented as part of the conference, which this year is hosted by NASERTIC through the Urederra Cluster. The event is bringing together more than 150 specialists and RES users at the Navarra Conference Centre and Auditorium – Baluarte.

The aim of the conference is to provide attendees with updates on developments within the RES and to offer relevant information on access to its resources and to the European High-Performance Computing (HPC) ecosystem.
