Microwave Radio Links

The Government of Navarre has a high-capacity radio transport network made up of more than 100 next‑generation microwave radio links connecting telecommunications sites. Together with the fibre‑optic backbone to which it is connected and the WAN transport equipment, this infrastructure forms the Government of Navarre’s high‑capacity data transport network. It provides territorial cohesion across the region by connecting towns and the main telecommunications centres. 

This radio backbone infrastructure, composed of links ranging from 300 Mbps to 1 Gbps, supports—not only the sites of the Government of Navarre’s corporate voice and data network in a self‑provisioning model—but also other strategically important services such as television broadcasting, emergency communications, and road‑tunnel communications. 

NASERTIC is responsible for the management, operation, and maintenance of this network. This includes all activities related to documentation and inventory of components, monitoring and supervision, request and incident management, administration and management of physical and logical resources, and preventive, corrective, and proactive maintenance. It also covers configuration and upgrade tasks, capacity and availability management, and the preparation of proposals for evolution and improvement.
